Hi, It's Claudia,

 

I'm a Spanish and Chilean woman in my 50s who has been living in the UK for the last 20 years.

 

I decided to make a career change 3 years ago after becoming redundant when I was a Business Development Manager. I managed a small team covering Europe, Middle East and Africa. I supported distributors and partners of a leading tech company on the sales of technical service renewals and software subscriptions.

 

It wasn't easy to transition from sales to this creative role as I had to learnt from scratch. 

 

I started with a filmmaking course with my local "Tyneside Cinema" in Newcastle. During lockdown I completed courses on "LinkedIn Learning" to learn design, composition, colour, typography, layout and Adobe software.

 

Then I attended 280 hours of online workshops with live instructors at the "New York Film Academy" (NYFA). I learnt the basic of filmmaking, directing, social media micro documentaries and film editing with Premiere Pro. There I learnt by doing. It was a great opportunity for me to interact with other students who shared the same passion for filmmaking.

I enrolled with the "School of Motion" (SOM), which is a great online and interactive Art School in July 2021 to learn After Effects and then I could not stop. I met great people and I learnt Motion Design, 2D animation, Illustration for Motion, 2D Character Animation, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I also learnt by doing following tight deadlines and I met many creative people.

Networking was extremely important for me so this is a big thank you to everyone who helped me on my journey.
